Class of 2026

Hello everyone! My name is Zavian, and I’m from Chandler, Arizona. I hope to major in Course 10-B. In my free time, I enjoy playing basketball, video games, reading, writing, watching anime, and listening to music. Beyond these hobbies, my favorite activity is questioning the long standing philosophies of this world. I believe that only constant change and restructuring of our current ideals can refine them to fit future generations. At MIT and Chocolate City, I aim to rearrange the ideals of the institution, through challenging popular philosophy, to better fit minority individuals.

Hi, I’m Shonell. I was born in Ohio, but I’ve spent the last half of my life living in Texas. I’m intending on majoring in course 6 but I’m also very interested in course 8. Attending MIT has been a dream come true for me, stemming all the way back from when I only 6 years old. I look forward to being able to learn about and grow with all my brothers in CC and attain a premier black experience at the institute. I value having strong meaningful connections with others above all else in my line of ambitions. So, in these four years, I will do all that I can to be the greatest version of myself and enrich the lives of those around me.

What’s up y’all, my name is Yonathan Hundie. I am an Ethiopian-American, and I have lived in Clarksville, Tennessee for most of my life. I am a huge music listener, my favorite artists being Kanye West, The Weeknd, Omar Apollo, Fana Hues (let me put you on fr), Mac Miller, Thundercat, and much more. Please feel free to hit me up with music recs. I also love anime and manga, my favorites being Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Attack on Titan, Serial Experiments Lain, Monster, and much more. Other than that, I love to read, hike, play video games, and watch movies. I am interested in majoring in 6-3, with a possible minor in finance. I am so excited to meet new people, and I hope to make the most of my first-year experience with my CC brothers.

The name’s Ugo Okwuadigbo. I’m from all over the place: I’ve lived in Atlanta, Miami, New York, Virginia… basically the entire east coast. Most people would label me the sociable type, but I consider myself someone who’s simply great at holding a conversation. I plan to go into neurosurgery, but here at MIT I will be studying either biological engineering (Course 10), chemical engineering (Course 20), or an interdisciplinary major combining computer science and neuroscience (Course 6-9). I do everything from reading to sleeping to biking and traveling.

Hi, my name is Kaleb and I'm from San Jose, California. In my free time, I love to play sports, socialize with friends, play video games (you don't want the smoke in FIFA or Mario Kart), and play/listen to all kinds of music. Come the fall, I'll be playing for the school's soccer team and hope to be an active member of NSBE. Also, if anyone's into jazz music and wants to form a flex ensemble, hit my line, I'm half decent at the saxophone.

Kaleb Asfaw | San Jose, CA

Yo, I’m Ayyoob Berhane and I’m from the DMV (Silver Spring, MD). While I’m not completely sure about my major (8? 15? 18?), I’m planning on going into consulting. When I’m not stunting, I like to spend my free time reading, listening to hip-hop, and playing video games. Catch me in pool if you see me.

Hello everyone! I'm Matt Smith, and I'm from District Heights, Maryland. I plan on pursuing either course 6-3, 2A-6, or 2A-Robotics. I am passionate about robotics and artificial intelligence, and in the future, I'd like to develop products geared towards aiding individuals with impairments (physically, mentally, etc). I am also interested in the field of AR and VR, and I have aspirations of hopefully having my own company centered around that area. During my free time I enjoy playing the piano, watching Netflix (taking recommendations all the time), exploring the area, and playing smash. A fun fact about me is that I have a twin sister. Excited to be here and to be a part of the future of CC!

Hey everyone! I’m Harrison Coleman and I’m from Birmingham, AL. I plan on academically pursuing some combination of 6-3 (Computer Science) and 15-1 (Management) though I’m not sure yet. I have a wide variety of interests including music (listening and playing), video games, film, sports (mainly basketball), traveling, entrepreneurship, and social issues. I look forward to pursuing my interests at MIT and being a part of the Chocolate City brotherhood.

I’m from Columbia, Maryland right in between Baltimore, MD and Washington, D.C. I plan to major in Computer Science and Engineering (course 6-3). I enjoy playing and watching sports, playing video games, and listening to music. My favorite artist is Kanye West and I really like his song Diamonds from Sierra Leone.

Dylan Bradford | Columbia, MD

Hey everyone. My name is Justin Okorie; I'm from the rural parts of Western Maryland (around Frederick if you know where that is). I'm passionate about physics and engineering and hope to study course 2A-6. I’m looking forward to making meaningful connections by having both deep and trivial conversations with the brothers. When I do have free time, I try to watch as much anime as I possibly can. I’m currently on ep. 800 of One Piece. We’ll see if I can finish before the end of the school year. PSETs take up a lot of time.
