Class of 2029 Brother Bios

Ifedolapo Shiloh Olotu | Katy, TX
Hi, my name is Ifedolapo Shiloh Olotu, or just Shiloh. I’m Nigerian American, I grew up in Atlanta, and then Houston. I’m planning on studying Course 6-3 (Computer Science and Engineering). I’ve been really into software engineering since middle school and I’m constantly tinkering on apps, websites, and games. Outside of school stuff, I love working out, playing basketball, watching Breaking Bad, and playing (mostly losing) chess. I’ve always admired showcases of powerful black representation, and I believe CC is a community that perfectly exemplifies that. I’m glad I get to be a part of this, and I’m looking forward to learning a lot from y’all at MIT.

Elijah Strom | Chandler, AZ
Hey everyone! My name is Elijah Strom, and I’m from Chandler, Arizona. Right now, I’m planning to major in Physics, but I’m excited to see where my journey at MIT takes me. In my free time, I enjoy playing and watching football, wrestling (collegiate and folkstyle), watching anime, playing video games, reading philosophy, and listening to music from all genres. Beyond my hobbies and interests, my goal in being part of the incredible communities at Chocolate City and MIT is to leave a lasting, positive impact on the world—something I can truly be proud of. If you see me around campus or anywhere in the greater Boston area over the next four years, don’t hesitate to say hello!

Jayden Tawiah | Greensboro, NC
Hey everyone! My name’s Jayden Tawiah and I’m ethnically Ghanaian, but born and raised in North Carolina. Honestly, I’m still figuring out what I want to study, but I’m definitely interested in course 6-14 and 15-3. Outside of academics I love creating—whether it’s recording content, curating playlists, or cooking up something good in the kitchen. Music-wise, Frank Ocean is my all-time fav, but I’m also a huge fan of Drake and Steve Lacy. In my spare time I love being around people, making memories, and having fun with friends.

Xerco-Tchouankeu | Prince George, MD
What’s good! My name is Xerco, I was born in Cameroon, and I moved to PG county Maryland about 7 years ago. I am planning to major in Course 6-3 (Computer Science and Engineering) and pursue a future in software engineering. I am a big soccer fan, I support Real Madrid, and my favorite player at the moment is Mbappé. I also love playing and developing video games. I like listening to rap , I am the biggest Playboi Carti fan ( Day 1 Pop Out defender). More than anything, I’m excited to join Chocolate City, connect with my brothers, and create lasting memories throughout my time at MIT.

Ericsson Ansah-Antwi | Eagle Mountain, UT
My name is Ericsson Ansah-Antwi, I’m a Ghanaian American born in Missouri and raised in Utah. I’m double majoring in political science and electrical engineering. I enjoy learning about psychology, computing, AI, politics, and economics. I did speech and debate, programming, mock trial, and video production in high school. I love soccer, basketball, and ultimate frisbee. I also love listening to tons of different kinds of music and podcasts. If I’m not working or studying, I might be around driving, partying, creating, or playing soccer. I joined CC to have the opportunity to be surrounded by other black male role models and have the brotherhood and connections it provides and I’m excited to get to know lots of new people.

Henry Marshall | Chicago, IL
Yo! My name is Henry Marshall. Originally from Australia, I was born in Melbourne and moved to Chicago where I’ve been ever since. I plan on studying either Course 2 (MechE) or Course 10 (ChemE), but I that is subject to change as I spend my MIT experience exploring all the fields that the institute has to offer. I play basketball at the varsity level, and when I’m not hooping, I’m either reading, listening to music, or both. RNB is my main genre, but I try to dabble in as many genres as I can. Feel free to project your hopes, dreams, and interests on me, as I am in a constant pursuit of knowledge of just about everything.

Kobe Youmans | Philadelphia, PA
My name is Kobe Youmans, and I’m from Philadelphia, PA but I’ve recently moved just outside of Atlanta. I’m interested in studying Course 6-5 (Electrical Engineering with Computing). I’m especially interested in Embedded Systems, low level programming, game development, and web development (kinda). Outside of academia I enjoy playing music. I primarily play the piano but also a little bit of the bass. I also love spending time with and going on adventures with friends, especially my girlfriend. I joined CC as a means to develop myself and my underrepresented community, inside and outside of MIT, and I really look forward to bonding with like-minded brothers.

Beau Ambroise | Newark, NJ
Hey, my name is Beau Ambroise. Although I am from Newark, New Jersey, I am ethnically Haitian and Malaysian. I am considering majoring in Course 6-5 (Electrical Engineering), while potentially minoring in Course 18 (Mathematics). In my free time, I love to play basketball, ride my bicycle, play video games, and go to the gym. Attending MIT has been a dream come true, and I feel even more grateful to be a member of CC. I did not solely join CC for the familiarity of its community but also to be uplifted and motivated by all of its accomplished members.
